Runway: Amiri S/S20

Following his recent minority investment from Renzo Russo’s fashion conglomerate, OTB, Mike Amiri presented his S/S20 runway collection a few days ago in Paris. Taking place at the Musée des Arts Decoratifs, this latest collection flipped the switch and took us back to Woodstock with nostalgic looks from the 1970s. The collection featured a variety of flared bell bottom trousers, tonal suiting, and an array of Woodstock-inspired pieces including suede neck pouches with feathers, mesh tanks, rolled blanket bags, and a Jimi Hendrix adorned denim jacket. The rock n' roll theme continued as guitar strap embroidery, drum-shaped bags, and tie-dye silk shirts made their way down the runway. Amiri showed their progression as a brand as the LA-based label extended their line of leather goods and increased their focus on tailoring. With backing from OTB and eyes set on opening their first flagship on Rodeo Drive this year, 2019 looks to be a pivotal moment for Mike Amiri + Co.

This S/S20 collection follows up on Amiri’s heavy-hitting F/W 19 collection, one of my personal favorites since the brand's launch in 2014. S/S20 was one my favorite collections of Paris Fashion Week with its elevated styling, bag assortment, and references.

Our favorite pieces include the Jimi Hendrix denim jacket, the corduroy flared trousers, the mint green suit, and tie-dye bomber jacket. Be sure to swipe through our favorite looks from the collection above.
