Blackstock Vintage To Drop Collection 2

Wesley Wheeler has always had a strong connection to garments and the craftsmanship that goes into them. Whether it be starting his own line with Esuri, or crafting one-of-one camp collar shirts out of vintage bandanas, Wheeler has a deep affinity for how things are made. Blackstock Vintage is Wheeler's latest project which launched in early 2019. The scope of the project as a whole is to take carefully sourced vintage garments and reimagine them in a contemporary setting. Essentially, Wheeler sources garments dating back to the 1940's up to the early '80s and treats them with a black dye to give them new life and relevance. When asked about Blackstock Vintage, Wheeler gave us this breakdown of the project & its process.

“I find it amazing what a simple black dye can really do for a piece of vintage clothing. For the trained eye, dating a piece of vintage clothing just based on the overall look and style of it isn’t too difficult. Dyeing that piece black throws everything off. A 1950’s jacket becomes a piece you’d find from the likes of Acne Studios. A Vietnam War-era Army uniform becomes a contemporary techwear outfit. I’m always taken back by how different a piece can look after the dyeing process; how easily garments made 60 years ago become contemporary.”

Collection 2 is set to drop Monday, July 1st at 12pm PST on blackstockvintage.com. Be sure to swipe through the entire collection lookbook above.
