Runway: Ami Paris
Alexandre Mattiussi celebrated his 9th year anniversary of launching his brand, Ami, this past week in Paris in spectacular fashion. His 9th collection began with a solo accordion player as the curtain pulled back to present his F/W 20 collection. Sticking true to his Parisian heritage, Mattiussi presented a variety of sharp tailoring, frill detailed shirting, and a plethora of chunky-soled dress shoes & loafers. The collection really amplified once the army of rich colors began to appear down the runway- shades of emerald green, bright red, and baby blue. The styling was impeccable due to the hats, striped scarves, and flower boutonnière details throughout. Overall, the collection was a love letter to Mattiussi’s 9-year career and he self-described the collection as “just having fun.” The show finished with a Parisian set design which furthered paid homage to Mattiussi’s city and heritage. Ami has slowly begun opening stand-alone retail stores throughout Europe with its eyes set on New York City in 2020. Be sure to swipe through our favorite looks from the collection above.
