Runway: Louis Vuitton F/W 19

With a New York City themed backdrop & Michael Jackson being the muse for Louis Vuitton’s F/W 19 collection, Virgil Abloh meshed together some of his childhood inspirations in his second collection at LV. Following the huge success of his S/S 19 collection that is currently hitting LV retailers worldwide, many wondered how Abloh would follow up his inaugural collection. This “2.0” collection featured a lot more monochromatic looks in shades of grey, black, beige, and purple. The collection played on the idea of street performances with saxophone players and spray paint artists in the background with the addition of some of the models who of which broke out in dance at certain points of the presentation. Considering it was a F/W collection, I was excited to see Abloh play with structure and heavier materials such as the puffer down pieces as well as the classic materials such as wool & cashmere.

Some of the highlights of the collection were the puffer vest with matching puffer bag (never seen that), the monogram cargo jacket which is covered in bag straps, and the black monogram teddy long coat.
