Runway: Alyx S/S 19 Menswear

Matthew Williams has steadily become one of the busiest designers in fashion. Fresh off of working with Kim Jones at Dior and with Nike on an upcoming collaboration, Williams presented his first ever runway presentation for his re-branded "1017 Alyx 9SM," which stands for William's birthday and apartment number of his first studio apartment in NYC. While Alyx was initially founded as a womenswear brand, this was not only the first show but the first fully dedicated menswear collection from Matthew Williams. The S/S 19' collection from 1017 Alyx 9SM offered more technical accessories, beautiful green and beige color gradients, superb tailoring, and some epic footwear design. While Williams's designs stand apart from his fellow DONDA peers, I believe that Alyx is growing steadily as one of the most well-designed brands on the market. Between the utility, Avante Garde stying, and co-signs throughout the community, I believe Williams is on his way to a very successful Spring with this debut collection.
