Virgil Abloh talks Architecture, Fashion, and the Youth at Columbia University

Virgil Abloh has created quite the name for himself in many different fields. Virgil is an "Architect," "Fashion Designer," "DJ," and "Furniture Designer," but titles aren't important to Virgil, just creating is what really matters to him. His brand Off-White has become one of the most popular brands on Earth due to its signature diagonal stripes. What most people fail to remember about Virgil is that he graduated from Wisconsin with a degree in architecture. He recently spoke to a group architecture students at Columbia University. Before the discussion began, the title of the talk was "Everything in Quotes," but quickly changed it to "Young Architects Can Change The World By Not Building Buildings." Virgil explained that he didn't want to build buildings, and that most architecture students will never build buildings. In this talk he explained some of the foundations of Been Trill, Pyrex Vision, and eventually how he developed his ventures into Off- White. Virgil discussed his upcoming collaboration with Nike as well as his upcoming work with a furniture company. This talk is a very good insight into Virgil's creative mind as well as some of the projects he has worked on thus far. It is a very inspiring talk for anyone into fashion or for anyone who is interested in creating something.
