Met Gala 2019: The Best Dressed
This Year’s annual Met Gala took on the theme of "Camp," which is one of the Gala's most ambiguous themes in recent memory. In short, camp refers to an appreciation of the overly-exaggerated, over-the-top, and flamboyant. With the theme being so open for interpretation, this year's guest brought about a variety of different outfits- all with personal flair and odes to cultural references.
Some of the most noteworthy ensembles were Jared Leto's Gucci F/W 17 callback in which he carried his own severed head. Travis Scott wore a 1/1 custom Dior harness paired with a Star Wars-esque suit. Harry Styles perfected the art of femininity with a Gucci sheer shirt & pearl accessories.
Queen frontman- Rami Malek didn't channel the camp energy from Freddie Mercury, but kept it clean in Anthony Vaccarello Saint Laurent. Nick Jonas wore Dior by Kim Jones and received a lot of comparisons to Game Of Thrones character- Little Finger. A fan favorite, Frank Ocean kept it real simple in full Prada- looked as if he just got off his shift as the doorman of the Soho store- fire either way. Dapper Dan x Gucci made multiple appearances due to its over the top camp nature- worn by Anderson Paak, 21 Savage, and Omari Hardwick. Ezra Miller stole the show- wearing Riccardo Tisci Burberry with elaborate makeup- 10/10 look.
