A Closer Look at The Tom Sachs X Nike "Mars Yard Overshoe"
Following up the highly sought-after releases of the Tom Sachs Mars Yard in 2012 & 2.0 in 2017, we are getting yet another exciting and unique silhouette from the New York-based contemporary artist. Nicked named the “March Yard “ to commemorate the shitty, wet weather that comes with the month, this shoe is made to withstand all of which mother nature might throw at you. The all-purpose sneaker features a waterproof Dyneema upper, dual magnetic fidlock buckle closures, and an updated SFB sole. My favorite part of this project has to be that the overshoe has built-in Mars Yard sneaker details that act as a sock liner. It's a cool concept to see Sachs barrow from his previous works and incorporate them into something completely new. The Tom Sachs Overshoe released today, October 11th at DSM London as an exclusive in-store raffle. A global release date for the sneaker is still yet to be announced, but we can expect a global release in the near future. As for the price of the sneaker, it will set you back about £390 (approximately $508 USD) with an expected resell price no less than double of that.
