Runway: Off-White A/W 18' "Business Casual"
When it comes to Paris Fashion Week, there is no bigger show nowadays than Virgil Abloh's Off-White. Coming off of a historic year in 2017 of being voted the 3rd most popular brand in the world, Off-White kicked off 2018 with a bunch of exciting new things to hit the runway. This season was heavily inspired by some of Virgil's favorite designers such as Raf Simons (similar to current CK designs), Margiela, and Demna Gvasalia's Balenciaga (square toe cowboy boots, western influence, and "Dad" vibes). However, Virgil remixed some of his influences into his own format by color choice, "everything in quotes," and the typical Off-White Branding. Some of the most exciting items to hit the runway definitely had to be the footwear. Continuing his highly successful collaboration with Nike, Virgil officially presented his all-white colorway of the Jordan 1, which is set to release very soon, along with a couple new colors of vapormaxes as well. In addition to the new Nike colorways, Virgil presented a new colorway of the Velour Timberland boot in Burgandy, as well as a white and Red Off-White "3.0" sneaker. This season showed Virgil's admiration for his favorite designers in the industry, while putting forth some newly exciting footwear, accessories, and uniquely cut and resewn graphic t-shirts. Some of my favorite pieces consist of the blue patterned slim trousers, the Prada sport looking utility bag, and the re-worked navy overcoat. Be sure to take a closer look at the upcoming Off-White Jordan 1 colorway below.
