Runway: Heron Preston A/W 18'
Heron Preston has had a lot of success in just a short amount of time, I guess that's what happens when you come from a creative group of guys such as Virgil Abloh, Kanye West, and Matthew Williams to name a few. Heron started his namesake label with a collaboration with New York Cities Department of Sanitation and has taken the momentum from that to form a completely new brand identity in just a year and a half. Heron Preston's A/W 18' collection builds on those of the past but now takes aim at Instagram Influencer categories such as Public Figure and even flying into space with NASA branded gear. There is quite the variety of ideas going on throughout this street-smart collection, but Heron somehow makes it work in a really unique way. Some of my favorite pieces include the snakeskin puffer jacket, the rhinestone-encrusted sweatpants (shoutout Ev Bravado), the silver-coated denim jacket, and the influencer jetstream T-shirt, which identifies all of the annual "trendy" Instagram kids link up spots such as Basel, Burning Man, and Fashion Weeks globally. I am inpressed with Heron's latest collection because of the thought process that went into creating this unique variety, while all being easy to wear in a practical sense.
