Jerry Lorenzo shops Italian Vintage for the Fifth Collection

2016 has been a big year for Jerry Lorenzo, the founder and designer of Fear of God. From the release of his highly sought after 4th collection to helping style Justin Bieber for his "Purpose" tour, and dropping a line with Pacsun, you could say that 2016 has been the biggest for Jerry Lorenzo and Fear of God as a brand. Fear of God was only known through Kanye West stans for some time, but with the addition of the Justin Bieber cosign, now the masses (including teenage girls) know about Fear of God. The 4th collection was extremely hyped upon hitting retailers, for example I work at a store in TriBeCa called Patron of the New, and we sold out of 30 pairs of $1,000 dollar Fear of God denim in one day (we still have some other items in stock so hmu jackson@patronofthenew.us). To say Jerry Lorenzo has found success would be an understatement.

As I logged on to Instagram today I saw multiple post from @jerrylorenzo, and @jefflazaro (a product developer at Fear of God). The two were seen scouring multiple vintage surplus archives in Italy for materials and even inspiration. This is a good sign for fans of Fear of God, let me explain. Sourcing materials is a great way to improve your quality of clothing, and especially Italian materials. If you weren't aware, Italy is home to multiple high end label's means of production. Brands such as Rick Owens, Saint Laurent, Margiela and many more produce within the borders of Italy. Jerry has mainly produced all of his clothing in LA, which we learned more in an interview with the owner of his manufacturing company. But Jerry has been heading towards Italian made goods, considering his new Fear of God sneakers were fully produced in Italy. It is exciting that Jerry is shopping in Italy for quality and vintage materials alike, because the 5th collection will have an overall improved quality and uniqueness. I guess we will have to wait and see what Jerry is planning, and what the 5th collection will bring.
