Must Have Sweatshirts this Season
For some reason, guys can get away with wearing sweatshirts way more often than any girl can and that’s totally screwed in my opinion. I love myself a nice, cozy, sweatshirt, especially as we start to approach winter. Sometimes, wearing a jacket isn’t enough and you need to add a cozy sweatshirt for some added warmth. I’m here to help guide you in buying the right sweatshirt this season and to give tips on how to wear it.
The Fitted Hoodie
Honestly, one of my favorite sweatshirts that I am so incredibly guilty of over-wearing is this cropped Calvin Klein hoodie. Available in both black and heather grey, it’s the perfect piece for layering this fall. It’s not the thickest sweatshirt in the world, but it’s insanely warm and since it’s so fitted, it fits perfectly under leather, denim, or an overcoat for a layer of added warmth. It features a ribbed cuff and a rolled hem, as well as drawstrings. You’ll usually see me wearing this with my leather bomber and I’m so completely warm, I don’t need anything else.
The Cropped Crew Neck
Okay, this piece would be a dream for me to own so I had to add it to the list. The Yeezy Season 1 Cut-Off Crew features a ribbed neckline, drop shoulders, and a raw, unfinished hem and cuff. It comes in a few colors such as Incense (beige), Caviar (dark grey), and Oxblood Red (raspberry), which is my personal favorite. Again, because it’s cropped, this piece will require some layering in order to get through the winter, but I personally suggest buying a size up so it hangs lower on your torso so your torso won’t turn to ice.
The Oversized Hoodie
Now this is the kind of piece that I’d steal from my boyfriend to wear, but boyfriend or not, own this look. I have a tendency to wear the Supreme Siouxsie Hoodie in the black colorway with black jeans, a black overcoat, and usually some Stans. Because the hoodie is an XL and I’m an incredibly tiny girl, adding the overcoat to it honestly makes it a lot more put together instead of looking like I just rolled out of bed (even though, to be honest, I usually just did). I love love love wearing a huge hoodie because I can wear so much underneath that keeps me so warm but that no one has to see, keeping the focus on the hoodie.
So stay warm this winter, and don’t be afraid of not looking put together enough in a hoodie- I promise, where there’s a will, there’s a way.
