As a documentarian of youth cultures and the energy that surrounds a generation, it was only natural that Hedi Slimane looked to one of the world’s largest incubators of modern youth culture - Tik Tok for his S/S 21 collection for Celine. Entitled “The Dancing Kid",” Slimane’s S/S21 collection highlights modern skate culture, e-boys, and a new generation of grunge. While it may be a drastic shift in styling, music choice, and collection inspiration we are used to seeing, it still stays true to Slimane’s vision of capturing youthful creativity and rebellion.
