Fashion Moves Forward’s List of at Home “Micro-Luxuries”

Our list of the best ways to make your quarantine as tasteful as possible

In these trying times, it is to the surprise of no one that we all have been spending more time in our homes than usual. This has brought upon us a time to reflect and really analyze how we live from day-to-day. Gone are the days of the “fit” (for now), the days of thinking about how we are going to string together what will inevitably be the next IG post. Now we have collectively turned away from our wardrobes and looked at our homes as a whole. This extended isolation has given us the ability to think long and hard about how we live. This may have you thinking and speculating of ways to make your spot as cozy, luxurious, and tasteful as possible, especially if we are going to be in this for the long haul. There are many ways in which you can spruce up your home life, be that a lovely Byredo candle to a pair of expertly crafted Charvet slippers. The days of “getting a fit off” are currently on hold for the foreseeable future so why not pivot to complimenting the Mohair Marni Cardigan in your closet with some luxe home essentials. Here at FMF, we have compiled a list of our favorite and most tasteful “micro-luxuries” that can help give you that sweet, sweet dopamine rush that we all have been lusting after, while also elevating your home life.

Byredo – Bibliotheque Candle $85

Byredo has been expertly crafting exceptional fragrances under the direction of Ben Gorham since 2006. Why not let this candle’s notes of leather, violet, and peach transport your work from home experience to a new level?

Lemaire Perfumed Paper- $90

If candles are too blasé for your tastes, allow Lemaire’s perfumed papers “inspired by naturalist herbarium” to fill your fragrance void.

Aesop Resurrection Aromatique Hand Wash- $39

Of course, in a time like this, it is more important than ever to practice basic sanitation. With that in mind, why not take it upon yourself to cleanse with one of the best hand soaps around.

Oribe Signature Shampoo- $46

In the spirit of sanitation, I hope you are all regularly showering and if you are anything like me, no hair goes unattended.

Zimmerli Silk Robe- $455

As many of us find ourselves no longer reporting to an office, instead of throwing on a full outfit, why not give yourself the luxury of a beautifully made silk robe as you log into that Zoom meeting.

Charvet House Slippers- $415

In the same vein, your feet are not something to be ignored in these times. Replace your penny loafers for a pair of Parisian-made Charvet slippers to keep your toes happy.

Parachute Alpaca Throw- $249

No matter how “productive” you are being at home, we all are sleeping more than ever. Why not make that 14-hour nap or that 5th viewing of “Goodfellas” as cozy as possible.

JJJJound  ACME Cup- $40

Justin Saunders of JJJJound is as obsessed with aesthetic as anyone, and because of that, he made a cup just as tasteful as anything you could drink out of it.

Herman Miller Eames Executive Chair- $4,795

For my heavy hitters, let me introduce you to the most comfortable office chair you will ever sit in. You may never be able to work in an office again.

Transparent Speaker- $550

May it be Baby Keem or Frank Zappa, music is what will help get us through this time and what better way to do it than with one of my favorite speakers.
