KITH Women is Here

I don’t know if this is just me, but I’ve always loved the simplicity of KITH's clothing but they just never fit me right because they were made for men. Instead of having to buy the smallest men's size to then try and shrink everything to fit me right, I can go buy my own. As of Friday, December 18th, when KITH Women debuted, us girls can go buy our own whether it be online or in store at 64 Bleecker St in NYC.

KITH has entitled their first drop “Chapter 1” and it's definitely not the last. According to an exclusive on Fashionista, Ronnie Fieg’s (the founder's) idea for the women’s side popped up when he began to notice that the smallest sizes in menswear drops usually sold out at a rapid pace and that a lot of the online orders were addressed to women. Ronnie took this idea further than anyone could have imagined and killed it with his first official women’s line. Obviously, the women's footwear is still in full effect and hopefully (fingers crossed!) will continue to grow with the success of the entire women's line.

What the line really is is a very slightly feminized take on classic KITH silhouettes along with a few choices of dresses and skirts, as well. I’m featuring some of my favorite pieces as well as the look book below so keep reading!

One of my favorite pieces by far is the Taylor Crop Hoody. From my understanding, the sweatshirt itself is relatively thin as it’s made of an Italian mesh with a lightweight jersey lining on the inside. Because it’s so thin, so cropped, and features a deep, raw v-neck, it might not be the best choice for this upcoming winter but I’m gonna try and go for it anyway. For now, the sweatshirt is available only in black but keep your eyes peeled for more colors in the future.

This piece would actually be a really good way to avoid a traditional winter coat and is something I'd seriously consider purchasing ASAP. The Danika bomber is fully lined and features a ribbed neckband, hem, and ribbed sleeves to insure that wind won’t creep in through any cracks. A really cool feature that the jacket has as well is a two-way zipper so that you can go crazy with however you feel like zipping it. This bomber comes in black, navy, and olive so you have lots of options to choose from!

Last, but definitely not least, are the Brie sweatpants. I always feel sloppy when I wear sweatpants but these are cut to fit a woman’s body so well that I think it’d be impossible not to rock it. Available in charcoal grey, heather grey, and black, the pants have an adjustable waistband and drawstrings along with tapered legs, but really, the best part about the sweats would be the two hand pockets. For some reason, women’s pants usually feature a fake front pocket and as someone who hates carrying a purse, I’ve always had a vendetta about that. With these sweats, I get comfort, a fire outfit, and no need to carry a purse.

These are my favorite pieces thus far but check out the full look book below shot by Hannah Sider and styled by Mellany Sanchez. AND don't forget to check out KITH online or in store is you’re as excited as I am about the future of KITH women!
